Campbell Kelly, Northern Ireland’s 2002 young carpenter of the year, won gold again in the regional Skillbuild competition, held during the Construct Ireland 2003 exhibition. Kelly, 19, from the East Down Institute, received his award from Patrick Hirst, managing director of hardware supplier Jamison & Green, and will have the chance to compete in the World Skills competition in Finland in 2005.
The Joinery winner was Paul Collins, 20, of the North Downs & Ards Institute.
Machinery supplier Makita was among the sponsors.
