Guests staying in the new wing of the Gleneagles hotel will be able to see the world famous golf course through new hardwood windows supplied by Allan Brothers, of Berwick-on-Tweed.

A member of the British Woodworking Federation, Allan Brothers has supplied 120 sets of French windows in a contract worth about £100,000.

The windows, which open out onto balconies, were supplied together with two dozen 900mm diameter bullseye windows, bringing natural light to the bathrooms.

All the frames and opening cassettes were fabricated in dark red meranti, a mahogany wood from carefully managed sources. Three point espagnolette locking handles with shoot bolts, combined with the strength of the timber sections, are designed to resist any attempts at forced entry.

Allan Brothers is able to offer full factory finishing and glazing, but in this case was requested to supply windows treated with a hardwood stain base coat for final decoration on site.
