A partnership has been struck between Finnforest UK and Donaldson Timber Engineering to distribute Finnforest‘s new Finnframe Floor System to the UK’s largest housebuilders.
A leading independent manufacturer of timber roof trusses and engineered timber products, Donaldson Timber Engineering has been a pioneer in the supply of I-joist floor systems to the UK market for more than a decade.
Now it is looking at the new challenges presented through evolution of the market.
George Watson, managing director at Donaldson Timber Engineering, said: “The Finnframe system has been developed with future requirements and demands in mind.
“To have that kind of forward thinking and flexibility is essential to our business. Of all the improvements from our existing system, the most important for us have been Finnforest’s investment in design software to take floor systems to the next generation and to meet the emerging European standards – such as Eurocode 5 – as well as our desire to source locally manufactured products for local, and metric, markets.”
Finnforest’s Finnjoists will be available through Donaldson Timber Engineering’s sites in Buckhaven, Fife; Cramlington, Northumberland; and Ilkeston, Derbyshire.
Finnjoist is the UK’s only fully engineered LVL I-joist. It combines Kerto-S (LVL) flanges and an OSB web to give a joist with outstanding strength to weight ratio, producing lighter and longer spans for quick and easy installation.
