Arch Coatings is working with sandwich panel construction specialist Siptec in the rebuilding of 16 units at Croyde Bay Holiday Village in north Devon.

Owned by the General Workers Union, Unison, the units are among 155 on the site, all of which will be demolished, rebuilt and finished in the same way.

The Siptec panel exterior walls have been treated with a single coat of Arch F2854 stain blocking primer and finished in Arch F1659 texture finish in sandstone.

The structurally insulated panel system used for the reconstruction is based around a modified poly form core sandwiched between OSB facing panel skins that are adhesively welded.

Site manager Steve Willis said the work was completed in half the time that conventional building and finishing systems would have taken.

He added that the method had obvious and significant financial advantages that show the way forward for the future.
