Chris Butler Joinery & Mouldings of Leicester expects to save money on waste disposal and up to £10,000 a year on “housekeeping” costs with the installation of a Weima WLH600S single rotor horizontal shredder.
The machine, based around Weima patented “V-Rotor” technology, utilises a vibratory in-feed on a horizontal plane, allowing the easy feed of long lengths of timber. A “Tank-Track” in-feed system enables the machine to handle small off-cuts as well.
An extraction unit and boiler system for the shredded waste will result in huge savings through reductions in heating costs.
Prices for horizontal shredders start at between £15,000 – £20,000.
