Greenpeace is hosting an exhibition of art and photography highlighting what it describes as the “crisis” of deforestation taking place in Indonesia.

The event takes place at the Oxo gallery in Oxo Tower Wharf, London from July 17 to August 3 and forms part of the environmentalist group’s “Save or Delete” campaign on the Indonesian forest situation.

The works on show were commissioned by Greenpeace from “12 of the UK’s most talented illustrators”. The event will also underline the group’s contention that the Forest Stewardship Council is the only acceptable forestry and timber certification scheme.

“The illustrators have been able to communicate the urgency of Indonesia’s forest crisis in a provocative and imaginative style,” said Greenpeace’s Brenda Ramsey.”The exhibition will also raise awareness that individuals can help save the forests simply be ensuring that they buy wood and paper products that have been certified by the FSC.”
