Five senior schools in Hull are taking part in the North East Timber Trade Association’s (NETTA) design competition for a “creative use of timber”.
Richard Gore, a director of Price and Pierce Softwoods Ltd and NETTA member, said this year had seen the best response from schools since the competition was started.
He said the enthusiasm of Neil Parker, head of design at St Mary’s School in Hull, had been crucial in the development of the idea, and added: “It is vital that as many young people as possible become familair with our products and this competition will help with that aim.”
A selection of the entries will be on display at the Hull dinner on April 21.
