Beam saw specialists Holzma and Homag Sawtech are combining certain operations.
The two manufacturers are both part of the Homag Group, which says that joining the businesses more closely in management terms will “form the strongest manufacturing and technology in t he beam saw sector worldwide”.
Homag added that the two operations complement each other’s strengths. Holzbronn, Germany-based Holzma is focused on supplying the industrial sector, while Homag Sawtech, which is based in Barcelona, was established to “bring beam saw technology to the medium and craftsman end of the market”.
Homag said that the Sawtech brand will continue to be marketed, with the operation focusing particularly on its CHF300 series and its more compact saws.
The company said customers will benefit from the new arrangement thanks to the possibilities for synergies, technology sharing and standardisation between the two businesses.
A Homag spokesman has confirmed that both the Holzma and Homag Sawtech factories will continue in operation.
