Puhos Board (UK) Ltd has formed a division, Puhos Structural, following its appointment as second national wholesaler for Trus Joist.

The division will manage the new undertaking from a covered warehouse near the company’s existing facility at Rochester, Kent, where much of its shipping, production and logistics for Puhos and Weather Dek flooring is based. Stock management and inland logistics will be handled by Transit Medway Ltd.

Andy Moore, managing director of Puhos Board (UK), believes that being part of the rapidly expanding engineered timber market in the UK will push the company forward.

He said: “Engineered solutions have proved to be the vehicle for innovations that save housebuilders time and improve quality. In a little over three years, Weather Dek2 is already used on over 35% of all new build developments. The annual turnover of Puhos in the UK has increased by 60% over the same period to around £22m.”

Trus Joist said its need for a second source of supply is an indication of the increasing demand for flooring system solutions. The growing relationship between Trus Joist and Puhos is, the companies say, driven by the belief that integrated product solutions offer major commercial and technical advantages to housebuilders.
