Stenner Ltd and Wadkin Ultracare Ltd have taken on the joint supply and support contract for Swiss-made Iseli saw servicing equipment in the UK and Ireland.
Doug Shopland, Stenner’s managing director, said: “We see this as an exciting opportunity to further develop our business in the green mill sector of the wood processing industry.”
He said the arrangement will enable Stenner to supply both its own and Iseli products, as well as manage the installation of handling equipment, in a “total solution” for customers.
Wadkin UltraCare engineers are currently being trained in Switzerland to provide service support for the machinery. Director Peter Smith said the contract opens doors to a sector where it is looking to increase market share.
The deal follows the appointment of Wadkin Ultracare as the service and repair agent for Stenner in the UK.
Stenner said the move allows it to concentrate on manufacturing, installation and commissioning of machines to maximise profitability. It said its own operation was located in the “wrong” part of the country to offer comprehensive and cost-effective maintenance support.
