Sanding and finishing processes at Oswestry-based G2K Joinery have been upgraded with the installation of a 1300mm working width Boere Select KKC machine with three heads.
Previously the sanding and finishing of individual components and assembled items had been done by hand – but this proved time consuming, expensive and inconsistent.
Boere looked at the final finish G2K required and evaluated the product range to determine primary and secondary processes. Time and motion studies underlined the value of a single pass process and the decision to install a machine with a working width to 1300mm widened the scope of work possibilities.
As well as saving time and labour, the Boere Select has enabled G2K to take on more and wider ranging work while increases in productivity and quality have been significant.
The Boere Select 1300 KKC is a top working wide belt sander with two contact roller units and a combination unit. The 1300mm working width is accompanied by a 150mm working height and 1900mm belt lengths ensure proper cleaning and cooling for long belt life and consistent finish.
