The assets and installations of Scottish wood-fired heating systems provider Torren Energy Ltd have been bought for an undisclosed sum.

Liquidator Deloitte & Touche said a company had agreed to buy about 10 boiler installations and a stock of wood chips prior to a creditors’ meeting on January 19. Details of the buyer are not being released.

Torren, which had operated an Edinburgh sales office and an engineered unit at Fort William, ceased trading last November after failing to secure enough sales of its boilers.
