A £20m social housing development programme in County Durham is using a three-storey timber frame solution from Prestoplan.

Builder Gleeson is working with Hanover Housing Association and Durham county council to provide the six extraCare housing projects, designed to help residents live as independently as possible.

Developments at Spennymoor and Brandon are already complete, while another at Consett is nearly finished. The other sites are at Seaham, Barnard Castle and Ouston.

Gleeson’s £60m four-year national partnership with Hanover is expected to deliver up to 16 extraCare schemes across England and Wales.
