Seminars and master classes on the Eurocodes and structural timber design will be held during Napier University‘s Centre for Timber Engineering (CTE) anniversary week.

The event, to be held at Edinburgh Festival Theatre on April 26-30, aims to provide engineers and academics with a detailed introduction and appraisal plus up-to-date information on the design of timber structures to Eurocodes 0, 1 and 5.

CTE director Professor Ban Sang Choo will introduce the “Masters” whose presentations will take place on the fourth and fifth days of the event.

They are Professor Hans Blass who will explore the topic of timber joints with mechanical fasteners; Professor Keith Crews who will speak on timber bridges; Peter Ross who will offer participants the opportunity to develop their timber design experience; and Peter Steer who will explore what can be achieved in the world of timber manufacturing and construction.
