A furniture company specialising in flat pack products which slot together has upgraded its routing technology to grow volume and output.
Slough-based Slot Furniture chose an AXYZ 4008 CNC router to machine components for its range, which slot together without fixings or glue. Previously, it had to outsource all machining of furniture pieces.
The company said order turnaround times had been reduced to three weeks since introducing the router.
The AXYZ, featuring a process area of 2440mm by 1466mm, accommodates various configurations including twin cariages, multiple spindles, an automatic toolchanger carousel and plasma heads.
Slot Furniture said machining components within its own factory saves time and money, while giving capacity for future expansion. The AXYZ software enables the company to prototype its designs.
