Fully revised span tables have been published by TRADA Technology Ltd to take into account the latest British Standards and design codes.
The span tables are available in the new publication “Span Tables for solid timber members for floors, ceilings and roofs (excluding trussed rafter roofs) for dwelling”. They previously appeared as an annex within Approved Document A of the England and Wales Building Regulations, Structure, which is itself under revision.
The tables allow engineers, architects, surveyors and building control officers to easily select or investigate options for timber member sizes in domestic building applications such as floor, ceiling and roof constructions.
Designers can also use the information within their submissions for Building Regulations approval.
