CIMECK Finland OY has bought a glue board factory from the administrators of Carelian SERwood Ltd OY in eastern Finland.
Situated in Rääkkylä, the factory has an annual production of 6,000m3 of pine glue board for the furniture industry and 10,000m3 of planed pine and spruce for the UK and European markets.
The factory has a planing line and glue board line with finger-jointing and optimising facilities. All raw material is kiln dried in the company’s own three kilns.
New owner Nicholas Moore, originally from England, plans to expand the planing at the end of this year to around 16,000m3.
Cut-to-length furniture components will be a growing feature at Rääkkylä, mainly directed to the Scandinavian markets, and sawn timber is available in normal export sizes.
