Green groups have been shocked by the appointment of the former Australian Conservation Foundation chief as the new public face of Victoria’s timber industry.
Tricia Caswell, who headed up the foundation from 1992 to 1995, said she hoped her selection as chief executive of the Victorian Association of Forest Industries would begin a new era of co-operation with environmentalists.
