The East Anglian arm of wood window restoration specialist Ventrolla division was called in to help with the £2m restoration of the 18th century Bedford Lodge Hotel in Newmarket.
The Stowmarket-based operation was contracted to improve the look and performance of the building’s original sash windows. As well as refurbishing the timber and repairing the windows where required, the Ventrolla team also installed the company’s Perimeter Sealing draft-proofing system.
Project manager Paul Abbott of FPD Savills Architects said: “As a period building, replacement windows were out of the question and secondary glazing was rejected as too unsightly and expensive.”
