Timber has been used extensively in the construction of a new communal building in Southampton.
The building at the Weston Adventure Playground features a timber and steel structure, argon-filled low E double glazed timber windows, green oak cladding, cedar shingles, decking and laminated timber purlins to support the roof rafters.
Architects Finch Macintosh specified Gwent-based Excel Industries Ltd’s Warmcel 500 high performance insulation with Panelvent external sheathing for the walls, roof and suspended floor of the single-storey structure, which replaced the former dilapidated building on site.
