Stora Enso Timber has strengthened its global distribution network with the acquisition of the remaining 49% of Stora Enso Timber Australia Pty Ltd from Australian company Moxon & Company Pty Ltd.

Stora Enso Timber Australia was established as a joint venture between the two companies in 2002 and a spokesperson said the change in ownership would have no effect on target setting and daily operations at the existing branches in Brisbane and Melbourne.

Matti Mikkola, SVP, business line construction, said Stora Enso Timber Australia would continue to concentrate on developing its product range, customer service and delivery chain efficiency.

The company supplies European softwood construction products in Australia and New Zealand plus a wide range of sawn and processed joinery products throughout the Australian continent.
