Rickmers Linie vessels are becoming a common sight in UK ports, loading breakbulk and project cargo for the Middle East, India and the Far East.
A recent visitor was the Rickmers Hamburg which arrived in Middlesbrough to discharge 2,000 tonnes of forest products from Mobile in the US Gulf.
Bahr Behrend Agencies managing director Peter Copland believes Rickmers vessels will soon be calling at UK ports on a regular basis.
The company, which was appointed agents for Rickmers in December 2001, said that direct calls in the UK by Rickmers Linie vessels have been extremely well supported, suggesting there is still a significant proportion of UK export cargo that does not fit easily into the confines of ISO containers.
