A major conference designed to help the timber industry better communicate the benefits of building with wood is to be held by wood. for good in association with TTJ and the BRE.
The “Big Challenge” event, at the BRE‘s Watford headquarters on September 20, aims to unite the industry behind a common set of messages which highlight the sustainability and efficiency benefits of using timber in construction.
Organisations backing the conference include the Timber Trade Federation, UK Timber Frame Association, British Woodworking Federation and TRADA.
Wood. for good managing director Charles Trevor said: “Right now the timber industry has a unique opportunity, thanks to the government’s commitment not only to build more houses but also to reduce CO2 emissions.”
