A combination of new markets and products saw Austrian company Blum boost turnover by 96% in the last financial year to €694m from €590m in the previous 12 months.
Blum, a leading supplier of hinge and runner systems for furniture, particularly kitchen furniture, saw a mixed performance in Europe, with slow activity in Germany offset by positive trends in many other European markets.
The company attributed its success to the continued worldwide trend towards kitchen fit-outs with added value. It has also invested in an additional automated high bay warehouse with 6,200 pallet spaces at its Hoechst facility, and is currently building another warehouse with 7,400 pallet space in Bregenz.
