Seven new Forest Education Initiative (FEI) Cluster Groups have been formed – four in England, one in Scotland and two in Wales.
There are now 32 cluster groups in England, 11 in Scotland and 16 in Wales.
FEI president Terence Mallinson said: “There is ample evidence that children, teachers and parents are interested in the timber and forest products industries and are willing to learn. It’s up to us in the timber sector to catch this interest and to nurture it to its fruition in attracting the brightest and best young people to become the next generation of our business.”
The FEI is to send a regular e-mail bulletin to timber traders to show how FEI donations are being used.
