SmartLIFE, a project funded by the EU and government for delivering affordable and sustainable housing, will partner the Building Research Establishment (BRE) in OFFSITE2005.

The SmartLIFE initiative, based in Cambridgeshire where 70,500 new homes are needed during the next 15 years, aims to make modern methods of construction mainstream by addressing barriers such as public perception and supply and demand.

Sue Rogers, BRE project manager for the event, said: “SmartLIFE’s understanding and hands-on involvement in delivering sustainable housing in Cambridge, together with their international links, adds a very valuable dimension to the event.”

OFFSITE2005, which takes place on June 6-9 at the BRE’s site in Watford, will feature seminars and full-scale interactive demonstrations from the world’s leading exponents of off-site construction.
