Severn Valley Woodworks Ltd has expanded its manufacturing facilities with the purchase of four Holytek moulding lines, CNC cross-cutting equipment and a third treatment tank.

The company, based in Westbury-On-Severn, is using the machinery to produce a diverse range of timber components aimed at several markets including the agricultural, industrial, construction and leisure sectors.

Much of its traditional output has gone into the agricultural sector, as crop storage and drying floors, large farm buildings and retaining wall systems. During the past two years it has developed further as a specialist supplying machined and treated softwood.

The new treatment tank uses Tanalith E and will concentrate on treating items such as decking and shiplaps.

Director David Twigg said consolidation in the industry through acquisitions could provide opportunities for smaller companies like itself, as merchant customers did not always want to deal with the same big chains used by their competitors.
