The latest product data sheet from the Trussed Rafter Association (TRA) focuses on chimney and hatch openings in trussed rafter roofs.

The TRA says that unless previously discussed with the truss rafter designer, truss members should never be cut or trimmed as this can seriously compromise the trussed rafter’s strength and stability.

The guide shows how to re-position trussed rafters to accommodate roofing features such as chimneys and hatches, which can be incorporated into the roof without the need for cutting.
