Forestry has been categorised as the UK’s third least stressful job in a survey by the Trades Union Congress.
Survey results, published by workplace first aid provider Trust Medical, put the profession on a par with farming and fishing for stress levels. Only catering and health and beauty were deemed to be less stressful.
However, a forest industry spokesperson said it was difficult to generalise about stress levels in the sector due to the wide variety of jobs performed.
He said: “Certain jobs in forestry can enjoy stress-free levels but those people who work in commercial forestry can experience stress the same as in lots of other occupations.”
