Canadian wood products company Ainsworth Lumber Co Ltd says its concrete-forming plywood panel has achieved the best overall performance in independent TRADA tests of leading types of medium density overlay (MDO) products.
The AinsworthEngineered Pourform-107 panel underwent 15 tests along with four other types of MDO panels to measure bending, swelling, moisture absorption, bonding quality, abrasion resistance and dimensional stability.
Pourform-107 recorded the best performance for exterior bond quality laid out in EN 314 and also achieved high marks for stiffness in bending tests carried out in accordance with EN 789.
The rigidity test yielded values from 7,092 Em/Nmm2 (modulus of elasticity) to 9,444 Em/Nmm2 for the different types of panels, while boards were soaked in water for 24 hours to test swelling.
Ainsworth said its economic Pourform-101 panel, designed to be cut-down in size, was Pourform-107’s nearest competitor in the tests.
