Timber industry companies are fast booking places for next year’s Interbuild, which is to feature a zone dedicated to the sector.
Firms already signed up include James Jones & Sons Ltd, Crocodile Timber Frame, Eleco, Akzo Nobel, Stewart Milne Timber Systems, JTD Timber Frame, Lloyds Timber Frame and Kelly Brothers.
Lilleheden, Vincent Timber and American Softwoods have also confirmed they will take stands next to the zone (ttjonline Oct 12, 2004), which is being staged in partnership with TRADA.
Jim Coleman, Lloyds Timber Frames’s sales manager, said: “I regularly attend Interbuild and I think bringing timber companies together in one place rather than having them dotted around the halls is just what we needed.”
Interbuild director Gordon Thomas said bringing timber products and related technologies together in one place would make them more of a focal feature.
TRADA’s marketing managing Rupert Scott said he had been impressed with the dedicated sections for architects and off-site construction at the last Interbuild.
He said: “I thought that in such a big show, having a timber zone would give timber more of an impact, as well as making it easier for visitors to find their way around.”
The zone will include a TRADA seminar theatre, running a programme of continuing professional development sessions, plus an “ask the expert” lounge and timber case study gallery.
Interbuild 2006 takes place at Birmingham’s NEC on April 23-27.
