Timber traders, architects and joinery companies will have the opportunity to network with each other at a series of TRADA in the Regions events this year.

The evening seminars are designed to bring together TRADA corporate and professional members with a mutual interest in timber.

Marketing manager Rupert Scott said the association organised the events after receiving feedback from more than 200 members, 97% of whom were in favour of the idea.

Meetings, which are open to all, will be staged at Grangemouth on April 25 and Newmarket Racecourse, East Anglia, on May 16. The seminar will be called Contemporary Timber Buildings, while networking opportunities will be possible over a buffet dinner.

Mr Scott said: “Our aim is to make the events informative and enjoyable, as well as offering the opportunity for members to meet a wide variety of people in their region who are interested in timber, including architects, engineers, contractors, joinery companies, timber traders, merchants and manufacturers.”

TRADA aims to run six further seminars in early autumn, with likely locations to be Banbury, the Gatwick area, Bristol, Haydock, Yorkshire and Central London.
