New York designer Stephane Dupoux used Neat Concepts’ Neatform Bendy MDF in a £2m restaurant project – his first in London.

Close to Regent Street, the restaurant “Cocoon” features surreal curved areas and a series of cocoons and Neatform was used to create everything from bendy seating areas to wavy walls.

Project manager David Horace said: “We used Neatform because of its fantastic bending qualities. It is perfect when you need consistent curves, and it was versatile enough for us to be able to incorporate lights into some of the features, build it into layers to create interesting gaps, as well as add other materials, such as padding for seats.”

Mr Horace said the staircase in the restaurant, in particular, needed a tight inside radius and Neatform was the only material able to produce exactly what was required.
