The first of a new chain of Italian engineered hardwood flooring showrooms has opened in central London targeting architects and interior designers.
The Tuttoparquet showroom in Hampstead, a £250,000 investment by Tutto Parquet Ltd, features the complete Listone Giordano collection and will be followed by five further stores in the capital and the Home Counties.
Tuttoparquet chairman Graham Colover said: “The emphasis is very much towards the interior designer and architects and I think it’s the first time a hardwood flooring showroom has targeted that class of clients, rather than being a general timber merchant.”
Mr Colover, who also runs independent flooring store Posners at Swiss Cottage, said the showroom will give specifiers access to Listone Giordano’s complete two-part engineered glue-down product range and technical back-up for the first time.
The outlet will host seminars for designers and architects to explain the technical features of the products.
Mr Colover said a “considerable investment” would be made in opening further stores, which he says are designed to give a “Mercedez-Benz” and “Armani” feel of quality.
He said the showrooms will meet specifiers’ desire for quality by offering engineered products with high levels of finish and stability.
Mr Colover added: “I think there is a large segment of the market needing to be serviced by a better quality product, which has not been addressed before.”
Listone Giordano’s engineered flooring has a top hardwood layer of 3.5-5mm.
