The Woodworking Machinery Suppliers’ Association (WMSA) used Ligna as a scouting mission for fresh ideas to possibly incorporate into its new look biennial exhibition.

The WMSA recently launched the Working with Wood show concept, formerly known as Woodmex, and chief executive John Smith-Bodden said there were plenty of features at Ligna which could be considered for the first “W6” show at Birmingham next year.

Mr Smith-Bodden, who attended the show with technical director Tony Kaye and exhibition and events manager Wendy Pattenden, said WMSA members had been “very positive” about this year’s Ligna.

Mr Kaye added: “The organisers have pushed the solid timber sector to a greater extent than ever before.”
