Stora Enso Timber is to sell its Linghed sawmill in central Sweden to Dalarna Lumber AB.

The planned deal, expected to be completed in the autumn, includes 30 staff, buildings, stocks and production assets.

The mill will produce about 34,000m3 of high quality redwood this year, mainly for the Scandinavian joinery market. It will continue to be supplied logs from Stora Enso.

Olle Berg, Stora Enso’s senior vice-president of business line joinery, said: “Linghed Sawmill has an excellent concept and reputation in serving end use industries primarily in joinery segments. Having been our smallest sawmilling unit, I trust Linghed sawmill will have better opportunities to develop its concept as part of a locally operated company.”
