Stephen Wright, managing director of George Barnsdale & Sons Ltd, has been appointed president of the British Woodworking Federation for a two-year term.
Mr Wright has taken an active role on BWF technical committees and George Barnsdale is a member of the federation’s Timber Window Accreditation Scheme.
Commenting on his appointment, Mr Wright said: “The development of the services of the BWF provides enables all of us in the industry to run better businesses more profitably. The federation’s Code of Conduct alone allows every member to comply with all the basic legal requirements of running a business and provides customers with confidence.”
He urged everyone to become involved and make the most of their membership.
“This allows the people concerned to have a real say in the way in which the industry should go,” said Mr Wright.
