Louisiana-Pacific Corporation (LP) is to progress plans to build an OSB mill in Clarke County, Alabama.

Work will begin later this year with production start-up forecast for late 2007. The plant, which will have an annual OSB capacity of more than 700 million m2, will provide around 130 jobs.

Jeff Wagner, LP vice-president of OSB, said the mill is key to the company’s commitment to maintaining its position in the structural panels industry with state-of-the-art technology, low-cost manufacturing capacity and high quality.
