Richard Burbidge, chairman and chief executive of Richard Burbidge Ltd, is the new chairman of TRADA. He succeeds John Perry, who stands down after two years in office.
Mr Burbidge, who has been a board member for seven years, said: “I have always held TRADA in the highest regard. It is vital for any industry to have a body that gives technical support and, from a base in research, publishes information for both suppliers and users.”
Also elected to the board were: James Jones & Sons Ltd director Tom R Bruce-Jones; Buro Happold partner Dr Mike Cook; Travis Perkins plc group planning director Dr Ian Goldsmith; and Roddy Langmuir, award-winning architect with Edward Cullinan Architects. In addition, members formally approved the appointment of Tony Hutchison, commercial director of Potton Ltd, who was co-opted onto the board in February.
