Jaakko Pöyry Group, the global consultant and engineering company, saw its forest industry earnings rise to €8.8m during the first half of 2005.
The profits were up by €1m on a year ago, while sales grew to €101.5m from €95.5m.
Despite investment activity remaining low in the forest industry, Finland-based Jaakko Pöyry said demand for consulting services had improved, while new orders were focused on rebuild and maintenance work.
The company recorded group profits before tax of €16.5m and sales of €253.2m, up from €13.6m and €234.3m respectively in the first half of 2004.
