The planting of timber plantations has been stopped in south-west Victoria, Australia due to worries about the effects of chemical sprays on the environment.
There are fears the sprays could damage local waterways and farms but the Central Victorian Farm Plantation Committee has dismissed them as misplaced. It argues that chemicals are already widely used for agricultural spraying.
