Malaysian plantation companies have denied starting the forest fires in Indonesia which blanketed Kuala Lumpur with smoke for almost a week.
Indonesia has blamed eight Malaysian companies, which operate plantations on the island of Sumatra, for the blazes.
The fires, believed to have been deliberately lit to clear land for agriculture, created a smog which covered peninsular Malaysia.
Malaysian commodities minister Peter Chin said the accused companies had assured him they were not involved.
The country has sent 100 firefighters to Indonesia to help curb the fires.
