Dieffenbacher, the German equipment supplier to the panels industry, won eight orders for modern production lines in the first half of 2005.
Three North American orders are for high capacity OSB lines using huge multi-opening presses, each with a capacity of 2.1 million m3 of panels a year.
A further four orders have been placed for continuous production particleboard plants in Malaysia, Poland and Russia. Press lengths vary from 32-54m, while capacities will be 2.5 million m3 annually.
The final contract is a continuous production LVL line in North America, for a customer already operating an identical first line. The equipment will include a 40m long continuous press and a microwave preheating system.
Dieffenbacher says the orders will keep its workshops busy until the latter stages of 2006.
