A community timber recycling project in Somerset is to move into permanent premises in Minehead during September.
The not-for-profit Timber ReUse Community Enterprise (Truce), which had been operating from a temporary site in the town, has been recycling domestic and commercial waste timber for the past five years.
It carries out shed clearances, sources the best wood at local authority waste sites and takes offcuts from local joineries, some of which it pays to process the wood into components for making recycled products, such as garden benches and planters, for resale.
Its “green hive”, made from old pallets, is designed to contain glass, cans, plastic and paper for recycling.
The project also provides training and education about reycling wood.
