Ainsworth Lumber Co has been awarded two forest licences to cut mountain pine beetle infested timber.
The 15-year licences for the Prince George and Quesnel timber supply areas allow for the harvesting of 21 million m3 of timber.
Ainsworth predicts the work will lead to 250 new production jobs and 600 jobs in woodlands operations.
