Finnforest‘s LVL pavilion in Kensington Gardens has been dismantled after being sold to a mystery buyer.

The summer pavilion of the Serpentine Gallery, which represented a €400,000 investment for Finnforest, has been removed from the park after hosting a series of events during the summer, including a wood. for good “Building Sustainably with Timber” seminar, a Finnforest seminar which attracted leading architects and the launch of Ruth Slavid’s book Wood Architecture.

Finnforest UK marketing manager Warren Dudding said: “The person involved in the purchase does not wish to have any publicity but they do have future plans for the structure and we have been in discussions to make use of it again when it is re-erected.”

Finnforest and its specialist engineering arm Merk manufactured and erected the Kerto-Q LVL structure, realising the vision of Portuguese architects Alvaro Siza and Eduardo Souto de Moura.
