A Schelling beam saw has boosted board cutting capacity at Broadstock Office Furniture Ltd.
The Macclesfield-based company described the Schelling FM-H 430 as a major asset in its production of a wide range of bespoke office equipment.
The Schelling’s space-saving side-loading facility, a deciding factor in the purchase of the unit, meant it was ideally suited to available floor space in Broadstock’s factory, saving the company from carrying out expensive machine moves or building alterations.
A scissor lift system located at the rear of the saw is mounted on a carriage on rails and can be moved out sideways for loading of full packs up to a height of 600mm. Everything remains at floor levels so a forklift truck can pass by while the machine is in operation.
Broadstock says the lift makes loading easier and ensures continuous feeding of panels into the saw.
The Schelling, which cost around £100,000, features carriage speeds of 120m/min, a 19kw saw motor for book cutting and Webex online diagnostics.
