Bandsaw manufacturer Wood-Mizer has cut the price of its smallest bandsaw model by 12% after introducing production efficiencies at its European manufacturing centre.
US-based Wood-Mizer said record sales of the LT15 have allowed the company to streamline its Polish factory, with savings now being passed on to customers.
During the past three years, Wood-Mizer has spent nearly US$1m on its Polish factory, including a US$300,000 CNC Mori Seiki turning centre, a US$150,000 Mazak CNC machining centre and US$120,000 laser equipment for cutting sheet metal.
Wood-Mizer re-designed parts of its mills to take advantage of the investment and to minimise parts sourced externally. The company has also secured better deals on steel, electronic and ancillary equipment.
The LT15, which can saw logs of up to 70cm diameter, are used by farmers, estate owners, park managers, large garden centres, or anybody with modest sawing needs.
