East Africa’s largest coastal forest is at risk of being destroyed by illegal loggers, according to the Kenya Forestry Research Institute.
The Arabuko Sokoke forest, which covers 358km2, is being targeted by timber companies and wood carvers.
The research institute has asked the government to stop the sale of carvings made from mhuhu to help prevent illegal logging.
