To cope with a growing number of orders, Lawcris Panel Products has invested nearly £10,000 in a vacuum lift from Manupac.
The machine is the latest addition to the company’s Creative Bonding Solutions department which saw an investment of almost £250,000 last year.
The one-man operated machine, which can lift up to 250kg, is equipped with four suction cups enabling it to mould itself to any surface with a 100% grip.
This ensures finished boards can be moved with ease and eliminates the risk of damage.
The vacuum lift has a working area of 10mx5cm, and a tilting mechanism allows the operator to check the reverse side of the board.
Importantly, the machine removes the need for manual lifting, so reducing the risk of injury to the operator or damage to machinery.
Lawcris marketing manager Hal Eccles said: “The vacuum lift’s capabilities are highly impressive, and as a result labour is reduced, the department is running more efficiently and significant savings are already being made.”
